    • Played as doubles (4 people) or singles (2 people).

    • Can be enjoyed by all ages and skill levels

  • Pickleball Academy is a great way to start! Instead of the beginner adult clinics, Birchwood introduced a new way of learning and progressing in pickleball. The four-week beginner course will help you to learn the basic elements of pickleball starting from dinking during the first class and finishing with the scoring and 11 points game during our last class. You can register online or call the club. Spots are limited!

  • Throughout Pickleball Academy Beginner Course, you will learn the basic shots of pickleball such as dink, volley, serve, mid-court play, and most importantly - scoring. By the end of the course, you will be able to play the full game of pickleball and know how to score and play!

Pickleball Academy Intermediate/Advanced Course is focused on more advanced strategies and shots such as attacking, defending, drive, 3rd shot drop, and others. If you played pickleball, know the scoring, or just finished the Beginner Course, then this pickleball pathway is for you!

  • No, you don't need to own a paddle for Beginner or Intermediate/Advanced Courses. We will provide a loaner paddle which is free of charge. However, if you have your own paddle that you would like to play with, you are more than welcome to take it and enjoy our Pickleball Academy.

  • Yes, Birchwood Pro Shop has a wide range of pickleball paddles for different levels, and various brands like Adidas, Babolat, Crbn Pickleball, Electrum, Engage Pickleball, Franklin, and others. Birchwood Pickleball Staff will choose a demo paddle for you, which you can try during the private lesson and order with complimentary overnight shipping.

  • No, you don't have to join the club to register for Pickleball Academy. The guest price is $120/session, and the member price is $100/session. However, we encourage you to join Birchwood to continue playing after Pickleball Academy Course and enjoy our different pickleball services at a member price.

  • Sport shoes with a white or any other light sole are required. We strongly encourage you to wear tennis, pickleball, or court shoes. Tennis, pickleball, or court shoes better protect your feet from any injuries and match the hard court surface of our Pickleball Facility. Birchwood Pro Shop provides overnight shipping for tennis, pickleball, or court shoes of different brands, models, and sizes. However, fitness shoes with a light sole can be worn as well, but are not recommended.
