Junior Academy Descriptions

Youth Academy is designed for young players from 4 - 12* years old at the beginner, recreational or intermediate level who are just learning how to play or continuing their tennis journey. The focus is on introducing juniors to the fundamentals of the game through fun drills and games while focusing on the technique, footwork, and other important aspects of tennis.
Future Stars
Level 1: Beginners
Level 2: Beginners Plus+
Focus: Fundamental Tennis Games & Skills, Agility, Balance, & Gross Motor Skills.
Equipment: 19, 21, 23 in. Racquets; Red Tennis Balls; 36-ft Court
Champions
Focus: Fundamental Strokes & Technique, Tennis Etiquette & Rules, Score Keeping and Live Ball Games.
Equipment: 21, 23 in. Racquets; Orange Tennis Balls; 60-ft Court
Tiebreakers
Focus: Fundamental Strokes and Technique Rallying & Play Tactics,
Singles & Doubles Games.

Gap Academy is designed to bridge the gap between the Youth Academy and Performance Academy. Players will focus on skills and technique that will get them ready match play. This program is invitation only.

Performance Academy is focused on players from 11 - 16* years old. Designed for young juniors who have begun to play USTA-sanctioned tournaments and are committed to training year-round for 1-3 days per week. The focus is on player development and making tennis both competitive and entertaining.

Aspire to Play High School Tennis, Stroke Technique, Singles & Doubles Tactics, Match Play, Preparation, On-Court Fitness

Birchwood Select Academy is designed for juniors ages 12 - 17* who have been playing USTA or UTR tournaments and are dedicated to training year-round. Intensive training includes on-court drills, strength and conditioning exercises, mental toughness training, strategy play, and tournament coaching. Juniors progress through different levels of training within Birchwood Select before advancing to the Elite Academy. This program is invitation only.

Elite Academy is a successful sport and educational project that giving the prospective juniors a chance to build a career as a tennis player, discover the high-quality development of their professional skills, the opportunity to fully realize their talent, and maximize their progress.
